High precision plastic welding solutions for automotive technicians
• Simple • Fast • Neat • Strong
Plastic Repairs Ltd is developing a range of high-precision plastic welding instruments specifically for vehicle technicians and repairers. Our Micro Tack precision welders are designed to quickly and accurately repair the plastic components not universally supported by traditional repair technologies. I've no doubt that you will be acutely aware that the majority of these plastics are found in cars. A fact less than helpful when it comes servicing and repair!
Designed from the outset to be a range of instrument grade tools for fast and detailed repairs. They were developed specifically for automotive industry technicians with the support of notable repair industry figures, training providers, insurers and repair organisations (logos to follow as we work through the legals).
Our Micro Tack precision welding range is for those jobs that seem trivial at first, but can all too quickly result in escalating costs for replacement parts when you realise the material can't easily be joined. Then comes that "tricky" phone call to the customer.
Two good examples:
Broken headlight bracket - Probable MOT failure and costs £££'s to source an OEM part or an AM part (if you're lucky).
Detached bumper tab - Without extensive work this can result in a costly* bumper change. Also true of parking sensors.

Adhesives or glues
There are plenty of excellent adhesives available, but selecting an appropriate one isn't always easy. Careful preparation is key and not all plastics are able to be permanently joined using adhesives. Plus in certain cases, the use of an adhesive isn't allowable under current legislation.
The Self-Tapper approach
Mechanical "fixes" come in all shapes and sizes as you'll have seen. However, does your retail customer really want to see this? Moreover, it doesn't breed confidence at MOT time either. What if you could offer to improve this type of temporary repair, what could you charge for this?
Our Micro Tack Precision Weld
A few minutes well spent! A trained technician will consistently achieve this level of quality* and offer customers a permanent repair they're (really) happy to pay for to avoid the alternative of costly replacment parts.
